What is an Arrangement 1 Fan?
Fan arrangements, based on AMCA standards, define the way a motor drives the fan, and how the motor and other drive components mount to the fan. An Arrangement 1 Fan is a belt-driven fan with the motor mounted separately. In general, a belt driven fan is connected to the fan’s motor via one or more belts and the fan and motor are mounted on a unitary steel base.
The Arrangement 1 Belt Driven Fan offers several benefits in the right application, including:
- Variable Speed
- Less Wear & Tear on the Motor (for some applications)
- Common Mounting Base
Components of an Arrangement 1 Fan
In order for an Arrangement 1 Fan to operate properly, it must include these parts:
- Fan Assembly (wheel, housing, & pedestal base)
- Shaft
- Bearings
- Motor
- V-belt Drive
- OSHA Guards
- Unitary Base
Other Fan Arrangements to Consider
- Belt Driven: Arrangement 9
- Direct Driven: Arrangement 4, 4V, and 8
- Belt Driven OR Direct Driven: Arrangements 3, 7, and Plug
